• Higaonna Sensei in Way of the Warrior: Karate, The Way of the Empty Hand (BBC, 1983)—Episode six of this eight-part BBC documentary, entitled Karate, The Way of the Empty Hand features Morio Higaonna Sensei (at age 45) as the authority on traditional karate and Goju-ryu. (Higaonna Sensei is Robert Ellis' Goju Ryu instructor).

• Higaonna Sensei in Human Weapon: Karate (A&E History Channel, 2007)—Higaonna Sensei (Robert Ellis' Goju-ryu instructor) is featured from 28:30 onwards in episode three of this 2007 series broadcast on the A&E History Channel. The hosts—mixed martial artist Jason Chambers and football pro Bill Duff—travel to Okinawa and train with the Higaonna Sensei (at age 69).
